Most of the works we look at are not online. We find them through galleries, studios and project spaces, and by asking artists what they are working on now.
Beautiful was not the starting point. What a work does to you was

Every line runs to one dark centre. The eye stops searching, and lands.
You said everything in that room asks something of you. One clear centre asks one thing only: the eye arrives, and has nowhere else it needs to be.
Thousands of lines, repeating yet never quite the same. Images that are this easy to take in tend to be felt as ease.
Grey ink on white, soft contrast, almost no colour. Muted colour tends to feel quieter, which matters in a room you want to fall asleep in.

Elin Vaar draws by hand, one line at a time, in a small studio outside Lisbon. A single circle takes her several weeks.

Stillness does not always come from distance. Here it comes from closeness: two forms that hold each other.
No corners, only curves. We tend to find curved forms more restful than sharp ones, which the eye reads as a small warning.
One quiet blue on white, in thousands of fine lines that move slowly in one direction. Nothing competes for your attention.

What does the €250 selection fee cover?
The search, our conversation and your selection: three works, each with its reason, price and availability. It is paid only after we confirm the search is a fit, and credited in full toward the artwork you choose.
What if you can't find the right work?
Then we tell you after our call, and you pay nothing. The €250 only applies once we both know we can find it.
What if none of the three feels right?
There's no pressure to buy. You keep your selection, and the fee covers the search itself. That's why we talk first: we only take on a search we believe we can do well.
What budget should I allow?
Selections start at €1,500 per work and go to €15,000 and beyond. Share your range, and we search within it.
What happens after I choose a work?
You buy it from ODE, and we arrange the rest with the artist: framing if needed, insured delivery, and fourteen days to change your mind. A hundred days in, we ask how it lives with you.
